Red Bank Pedestrian Plaza To Stay Open 24/7 Through November
The popular 'Broadwalk' will remain open until Nov. 30, according to Laura Kirkpatrick, Executive Director of the Red Bank RiverCenter.

RED BANK, NJ - Red Bank’s popular summer pedestrian plaza will be extending its stay on Broad Street.
As revealed by councilman Hazim Yassin in a surprise announcement at a Wednesday Red Bank Borough Council meeting, the four-day-a-week temporary outdoor shopping and dining center will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
While Executive Director of the Red Bank RiverCenter Laura Kirkpatrick told Patch in July that the plaza will only remain open until September, the surprise announcement will extend the plaza's residency until Nov. 30.

“Speaking on behalf of the RiverCenter, we are very pleased that [the borough council is] interested in keeping this outdoor plaza available for the businesses in the area and creating this atmosphere," Kirkpatrick said. "People can come to Red Bank, they can eat outside, they can walk around, and then they have access to our retailers in and out of that area as well."

While the weekly musical entertainment from the StreetLife program has ended for the season, the Red Bank Farmers Market - open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - will continue until mid-November.
“People can continue outdoor dining and enjoy outdoor dining, but the important thing is that we need to move to 50 percent indoor dining [capacity] and we need to let these restaurants get back to their regular operations," Kirkpatrick concluded. "We need to be smart, be safe, but we need to let these businesses do what they need to to keep afloat.”
