Red Bank Catholic Honored For Virtual Program

The Virtual High School recently honored Red Bank Catholic for the mutually beneficial relationship.

RED BANK, NJ - The Virtual High School honored Red Bank Catholic High School for its long-standing partnership to offer advanced learning opportunities for students. VHS representative Martha Kagan came to RBC to present the award to site coordinators Matt Bowen, Mary Russo and VHS science teacher Mary Jane Davis.

The Virtual High School provides students with more than 300 various course options in different subject areas that students take online in a dedicated class period during the school day. Since its introduction at RBC in 2010, more than 50 students have taken advantage of the opportunity and completed courses in Engineering for Sustainable Energy, biotechnology, screenwriting, programming, mythology, zoology and more.

The school gets “great feedback from students who have the opportunity to pursue a narrow and specific interest that would never be commonplace as a high school course offering," Bowen said in a release. "The Virtual High School partnership makes this possible.”
