RED BANK, NJ -- As a commitment to community service and social justice, Red Bank Charter School will once again recognize Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a “Day of Service,” the school announced.

Students, faculty, staff and guests will participate in a series of community-wide activities designed to reflect and recognize the importance of service to others, school officials said.

The events began Friday with guest speaker Gilda Rogers, local historian, award-winning journalist, producer, and advocate for arts and culture. Gilda has been an integral part of the preservation of the national historic landmark, the T. Thomas Fortune House in Red Bank, and will discuss the importance of community advocacy with our students, officials said.
