Red Bank RiverCenter Scraps Outdoor Concert Series
Logistics, low ticket sales and staffing issues contributed to the fundraiser's cancellation, according to the RiverCenter.
RED BANK, NJ - The outdoor concert series slated to begin this weekend at Red Bank’s Riverside Gardens Park is now cancelled, the Red Bank RiverCenter confirmed to Patch on Friday.
The cancellation comes nearly two weeks after the event series was announced.
Red Bank RiverCenter Executive Director Laura Kirkpatrick listed several reasons for the last-minute scrapping of the fundraiser: “logistics, low ticket sales, and staffing," to name a few.

“It was meant to be a fundraiser,” Kirkpatrick wrote in an email.
The concert bandshell was scheduled to take place over two Saturdays at the park on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. Bands were set to pay tribute to popular artists such as U2, Neil Young, the Beatles and Linda Ronstadt.

The musical tribute series was planned in an attempt to offset the lost revenue from the cancellation of two food truck festivals earlier this summer, the International Beer, Wine & Food Fest, and the Guinness Oyster Festival.
The most recent agenda on the borough’s municipal website details the weekend event as “reviewed and recommended for approval” by the Special Events Committee. However, as Red Bank Green previously reported, a request to use the park for the concert series was withdrawn without explanation at a Wednesday borough council meeting.
