Red Bank Regional Alum Weir Earns College All-American Honors
Rachel Weir, a Penn State Brandywine soccer player, was named to the USCAA All-America Second Team and its National Academic team in 2019.

NEPTUNE CITY, NJ — Rachel Weir, a 2016 graduate of Red Bank Regional, closed out a stellar four-year career with a pair of national honors as a member of the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team.
Weir was named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Academic Team for the third straight year (for student-athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better) and was named to the USCAA Second Team All-America for the Lions.
Over her four years at Brandywine, Weir tallied 19 goals and 23 assists over 62 games. Her direct kick in overtime on Oct. 30 set up the game-winning goal to give Brandywine the 3-2 victory over Penn State Hazelton and its fourth straight Penn State University Athletic Conference championship.

As a midfielder/defender, she also helped anchor a defense that allowed seven goals in 2019 and completed a four-year unbeaten streak in PSUAC play. The Lions went 35-0 on the field vs. PSUAC opponents during that time, including the conference playoffs.
Those four championships earned Brandywine four straight trips to the USCAA National Championship tournament, and as a junior Weir helped the Lions reach the national title game.

In addition to her senior-year honors, Weir received USCAA All-American honorable mention as a junior, twice was named to the All-PSUAC first team and twice was All-PSUAC honorable mention, and was named to the PSUAC All-Academic team three years. She earned Brandywine's academic achievement award as a freshman.
