Red Bank Regional's Abby Decker Leads Tennis Team To Wins
Red Bank Regional Senior Abby Decker of Shrewsbury leads her tennis team to an impressive season, its best in more than a decade.

LITTLE SILVER, NJ - Red Bank Regional's Tennis Team performed exceptionally this season supported by the team's "star player," as the school calls her: Senior Abby Decker of Shrewsbury.
The team ended the season with a 16-5 record, the most wins in the last 12 years and had the greatest number of athletes qualify for states ever.
The team was represented by Abby Decker, first singles, Bridge Tobin, second singles and Sophie Pouso and Belle McCarthy, first doubles.

The team placed second at the Monmouth County Tournament with Sophomore Madeline Solon winning second place in the third singles tournament.
Decker finished her high school tennis career with 80 wins and 23 losses. She represented RBR in the States championship for the past three years and had her best finish this year reaching the fourth round of the tournament.

That is the farthest RBR has ever advanced at States. She also was the runner up in the county tournament last year. Abby has been nominated to the first team All Shore for the past three years.
“In addition to being a feisty competitor, Abby has shown tremendous sportsmanship as exemplified by her award last year of the Laurence Miller Sportsmanship award by the USTA," said Abby’s Coach Krishna Kanuga in a release from the school.
Decker plans to continue playing tennis at a division one school after she is graduated from Red Bank Regional.
