Southside Johnny & Asbury Jukes Do NJ's First Drive-In Concert
How to do a summer concert in a pandemic? The Asbury Jukes will do a live show July 11 at Monmouth Park; drive in and watch from your car.
OCEANPORT, NJ — The same day The Stone Pony in Asbury Park announced they are canceling their outdoor Summer Stage series, the Count Basie Center for the Arts announced they will launch New Jersey’s first-of-its kind “drive-in” concert experience this summer.
The drive-in concert will be held live on the stage at Monmouth Park on Saturday, July 11 and the first show will be from Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes.
“The Asbury Jukes and I are so excited that we can play this first of its kind live concert and help get New Jersey started on a quick and healthy return to normal,” said “Southside” Johnny Lyon. “Why sit at home when ‘We’re Havin’ A Party,’ drive-in style? We’ll safely see everyone July 11.”
