Two River Theater Kicks Off Summer Series: Shows This Weekend

The series features Tony-nominated Joe Iconis, Lauren Marcus and band members Seth Eliser, Eric William Morris, and Nygel D. Robinson.

RED BANK, NJ — The Two River Theater has kicked off its summer season with its new Plaza Players Series, and performances will continue this weekend.

The series features Tony-nominated writer and composer Joe Iconis ("Be More Chill" and "Love in Hate Nation"), Lauren Marcus ("Be More Chill," "Love in Hate Nation") and band members Seth Eliser ("ONCE"), Eric William Morris ("Be More Chill," "The Ballad of Little Jo," "Songbird"), and Nygel D. Robinson ("Beau: The Musical").

Iconis, Marcus and the band will perform more select music from "Be More Chill," which originated at Two River Theater, with original music by Marcus and solo songs by Iconis on piano.

The performances will take place on the theater's outdoor plaza at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Special guests include Amina Faye (Love in Hate Nation) on Friday, and Faye and Kelly McIntyre (Love in Hate Nation) on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now at tworivertheater.org or 732-345-1400. Each performance runs around 75 minutes. Tables of two and four are available for purchase at the rate of $50 or $100 per table. Through a new partnership with Sickles Market in Red Bank, a special menu of snacks and light fare have been specially curated for this series.
