A Love Letter To George T. Luck, Jr.

These high school sweethearts have been through it all, from sock hops in the school gym to 47 years of marriage.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Carol Luck’s love story about her husband, George:

“It all began in March 1967, a sophomore girl and a junior boy. Local kids attending South Brunswick High School. We were young at heart and starting dating. It was casual at first, attending sports events like basketball and high school sock hops. For those young folks, a sock hop was a dance held after basketball games and they took place in the school gym. There it began, with much more to come -- meeting the parents, meeting the siblings, continued dating, off to college and then work. Marriage followed in June 1971. We lived locally and still do after all those years! 'Happy Together' as the song goes after 51 years together and celebrating 47 years of marriage this June! Now that's a love story!”
