Man Stole Van More Than A Dozen Times, South Brunswick Police Say

Jarred Robinson, 23, of Franklin has been charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, burglary, tampering with evidence, and theft.

South Brunswick police have arrested a man wanted in connection with car burglaries, and after they took him into custody, they determined he’d also stolen the same van more than a dozen times.

According to a news release from Capt. James Ryan:

Earlier this month, police published an alert, notifying people they were looking for Jarred Robinson, 23, of Franklin.

Someone who read that alert spotted him walking in the Society Hill development off Route 27 in Franklin and called police, who took him into custody last week.

After his arrest, police determined Robinson had stolen a van more than a dozen times in the last month.

The van belonged to an adult day care center in North Brunswick, where he’d previously worked. He kept the keys to that vehicle, and he used it to drive around various neighborhoods and burglarize vehicles.

He was previously connected to car burglaries in the Royal Oaks Apartment complex in South Brunswick. In that case, he ran away from police, but dropped his wallet which contained his driver’s license.

He has been charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, burglary, tampering with evidence, and theft. Robinson was sent to the Middlesex County Correction Center in North Brunswick, with bail set at $30,000.
