“The fast response and establishment of a perimeter left the suspect little room to escape,” Chief Raymond Hayducka. “The women who observed the suspect and the residents who saw him running were unsettled by the incidents. His capture can put residents minds at ease as we still piece together his activity over the past week.”

Twice this week, two different residents called police and reported that a man was at the backs of their homes, peeking into the windows. One resident believed the man was trying to get into the home.

At 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, a woman called police to Crestone Circle because she saw a man duck behind a tree and peek through her rear sliding glass door. When the man - later identified as Walker - realized she’d spotted him watching the house, he ran away, toward Princeton Gate Boulevard.

Police set up a perimeter, and around 9 a.m., Officer Jesse Blake saw Walker riding on a bicycle on Camelot Court. When Blake approached, Walker dropped the bike and ran away.

Over the next 45 minutes, several residents told police they spotted him in their backyards.

At 9:45 a.m. Detective Dennis Yuhasz found Walker laying in the tree line. He ordered him to come out, but Walker ran again.

Officer Danny Rodriguez and Yuhasz chased him. As they emerged from behind a row of houses, Sgt. Donald Varga caught him.

Walker was connected to the Crestone Circle case and a similar case on Tuesday morning on Canterbury Way.

Detectives are continuing their investigation, but they have determined he had entered at least five backyards in that community in the last week.

Walker was sent to the Middlesex County Correction Center, North Brunswick, with bail set at $12,500.

Anyone with information is asked to call Yuhasz at (732) 329-4000 ext. 7496.
