Route 1 South Now Open After Truck Crash

All southbound lanes of Route 1 have been reopened after a dump truck crash in North Brunswick on Tuesday.

All southbound lanes of Route 1 have been reopened after a dump truck crash in North Brunswick on Tuesday.

The truck overturned and slid into a pole near Adams Lane early Tuesday afternoon.

The driver was pinned inside, but was freed by emergency workers, police said on Facebook. That driver was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with injuries that are believed to be non life-threatening, police said.

The road was closed for more than a hour.

North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, First Aid & Rescue Squad, Volunteer Fire Companies 1 and 2, and Station 3 responded.
