“The Body Armor Replacement Fund is funded through a $1 surcharge to each fine, penalty or forfeiture imposed and collected by a judge” for violations of the state’s motor vehicle laws.
To participate in the 2015 BARF Program, agencies must have a written mandatory body armor wear policy for all uniformed officers who work in patrol or field operations, the news release said.
