1K Child Porn Images Found On Toms River Man's Devices: Prosecutor
Tips to a national tipline led to identifying the man's IP address, the Ocean County prosecutor said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ ? A Toms River man who had more than 1,000 images of child pornography has been arrested, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday.
Edward M. Lynch, 52, of Toms River, was charged Thursday with possession of child pornography, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
The investigation resulted from a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which received cyber-tips that someone was downloading images of child pornography from the internet, Billhimer said.

The prosecutor?s office High Tech Crime Unit identified an IP address associated with a home in Toms River as the location where the images were being downloaded, he said. Detectives executed a search warrant on Thursday and seized multiple electronic devices; a forensic examination revealed more than 1,000 images of child pornography, Billhimer said.
Further investigation revealed that Lynch was the individual responsible for downloading the child pornography, he said.

Lynch has been charged with possession of child pornography and is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
The Ocean County Prosecutor?s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, Toms River Township Police Department Emergency Services Unit, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children collaborated on the investigation.
