2 Charged As Cocaine, Heroin, Crack Seized From Toms River Motel
Police said there has been an increase in the number of police calls to Motel 6 in recent months.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Two people were arrested as authorities seized cocaine, heroin and crack cocaine following an investigation into drug distribution from two motels, Toms River police said Thursday.
Kasiem Davis, 46, of Monclair, and Arlene McKevitt, 40, of Seaside Park were arrested Tuesday after rooms at the Motel 6 on Route 37 and the Desert Palm Inn in Seaside Park were searched, said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
Members of the Toms River Police Department Special Enforcement Team executed search warrants on two rooms at the Motel 6, at 2015 Route 37 East, and seized 31 grams of cocaine, 29 grams of crack cocaine, 112 wax folds of heroin and other paraphernalia items used to distribute and manufacture narcotics, Messina said.

Evidence turned up during the search led to a room at the Desert Palm Inn, and a consent search turned up 12 more grams of crack cocaine and 40 wax folds of heroin, she said.
Police also seized $4,452 that is pending forfeiture, Messina said.

Davis was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, second-degree possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, second-degree possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, and possession with the intent to distribute heroin.
McKevitt was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Messina said. Davis and McKevitt were sent to Ocean County Jail pending first appearance court dates.
The Motel 6 has experienced a high level of call volume and narcotics activity over the last several months resulting in numerous police responses, Messina said.
Anyone with information regarding criminal activity at the motel is encouraged to contact the police department. The Toms River Emergency Services Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Strike Force and Seaside Park Police Department all assisted with the investigation.
