Drive-Through Job Fair Set For Toms River
The drive-through event at Ocean County College will include employers from Monmouth and Middlesex counties in addition to Ocean.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — Job fairs are a favorite way for businesses seeking employees and people searching for jobs to connect — a chance to learn about possibilities job-seekers hadn't considered, and to sell themselves to potential employers.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional face-to-face interviews have been replaced by Zoom and Google Meets conversations, and opportunities are relayed through social media.
The Ocean County Workforce Development Board wanted to help make the search a little bit easier and has created the free Central Jersey Drive Thru Job Fair, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 15 at Ocean County College.

"Job seekers are invited to join us for this innovative approach to connecting people in a safe way to employment opportunities in their local communities and neighboring counties," the workforce group said.
The group is collecting written, detailed information from employers in Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties on current job openings, wages and how job seekers can apply, and compiling comprehensive packets of the job leads. Those packets will be distributed to attendees as they drive up to a designated site on the Ocean County College campus the day of the event.
