Incident happened on Thursday afternoon in Greenbier

A Toms River woman suffered a dizzy spell while driving and impacted her garage Thursday afternoon.

Traffic Safety Officer Brian Doyle is investigating the crash, where 79-year-old Marlen Kaufman became dizzy when driving up her driveway and drove through her garage wall, said Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

The crash happened at 4:30 p.m. at Kaufman's Alpen Lane residence in the Greenbriar Woodlands adult community, the chief said. The Pleasant Plains Fire Company, Silverton First Aid Squad and the Toms River Building Department responded.

While the impact of her 2001 Chrysler knocked the garage wall off its foundation, Kaufman was not injured and the building department determined the home was safe to inhabit, Mastronardy said.
