'Family Guy' Inflatable Stolen From Route 37 Auto Dealership

It may not have been the "Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubemen" plot line, but the inflated main character of adult cartoon "Family Guy" was stolen from a Route 37 car dealership Saturday.

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said a "Peter Griffin Family Guy" blow-up character on display at First Choice Auto on Route 37 West was stolen around 3 a.m. Saturday.

The inflatable Peter Griffin was taken, along with its extension cord and its blower that keeps it inflated, said the police chief.

Mastronardy said security cameras have captured some images of the suspects and police are reviewing them.

"A male and female wearing hooded sweatshirts were observed on security cameras removing the character and then fleeing in a dark color sedan from in front of First Choice Auto Route 37 west," Mastronardy said in a prepared statement.

Officer Larry DiFabio is investigating.  Anyone with information can call Toms River Police Headquarters at 732-349-0150.
