Football Season Kicks Off: Toms River South 2023 Football Schedule

TOMS RIVER, NJ ? The waning days of August are usually reserved for last-licks trips to the beach, hanging out with friends and soaking in the last bits of summer.

In 2023, however, summer is ending a little bit earlier for high school football teams, including Toms River South

The season kicks off for many teams around the state Friday night, Aug. 25, as the NJSIAA ? the governing body for high school sports in New Jersey ? made adjustments to the start of the season to accommodate an expanded playoff season.

The first game for Toms River South is Friday, Sept. 1.

Toms River South, under coach Matt Martin, is looking to improve on its 2022 season, where the Indians finished 1-9

Here is the full regular-season schedule for 2023:

• Sept. 1 vs. Holmdel, 6 p.m.
• Sept. 8 at Monmouth, 6:30 p.m.
• Sept. 15 at Toms River East, 6 p.m.
• Sept. 22 vs. Neptune, 6 p.m.
• Sept. 29 at Jackson Liberty, 6 p.m.
• Oct. 6 vs. Pinelands, 6 p.m.
• Oct. 13 at Toms River North, 6 p.m.
• Oct. 20 vs. Central Regional, 6 p.m.
