George Bobowicz Of Toms River, Loving Grandfather To 11

George L Bobowicz worked for Hudson News and lived in Lyndhurst before he and his wife retired to Toms River.

George L. Bobowicz of Toms River passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020. He was 78 years old. Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, he worked for the Hudson News Company in North Bergen from 1970 until 2008. He married Maryann Keesser in 1963 and they lived in Lyndhurst, NJ, from 1968 until 2008. They were parishioners of Mt. Carmel Church in Lyndhurst the years they lived there. They raised their six children while they lived in Lyndhurst, before George and Maryann retired and moved to Toms River in 2008.

George and Maryann loved to travel to see their grandchildren and family. George was always there for his family anytime they needed him. They also enjoyed going to Atlantic City.

He was the son of the late John P and Mary A (O’konsky) Bobowicz. George was the youngest of nine children, and was preceded in death by his siblings, John (2000), Thomas (1999), William (1987), Lorraine (2019), Wanda (2017), Bernard (2014), Richard (1992), and Joseph (1997).

He also was predeceased by his daughter, Donna, in 1973.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maryann; his five sons: Alan and his wife, Michelle, of California; Glen and his wife, Jillian, of Connecticut; Scott and his wife, Roxanne, of Virginia; Russell and his wife, Susannah, of New Jersey, and his son Keith, also of California. He also is survived by his 11 grandchildren: Nicholas, Devin, Casey, Christian, Kyle, Victoria, Mitchell, Connor, Hailey, Elias and Owen. He is also survived by a host of other family and relatives.
