Girl, 6, Falls From Home's 2nd-Story Window: Toms River Police

Police said the girl got up and went to the door to get her mother after the fall.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A 6-year-old girl was taken to the hospital Monday after she fell from a second-story window of her home, Toms River police said.

The girl fell from the window of a Hazelwood Drive home shortly before 4:15 p.m., said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.

The girl was alert and conscious, and walked to the front door of her home to get help from her mother, who called emergency services, Messina said.

The girl was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune by paramedics and EMS as a precaution, she said. No additional information was available Monday night.
