Happy Mother’s Day From Kathleen Schworn
"I am forever grateful that we have a relationship filled with love, truth and acceptance."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Kathleen Schworn's letter to her mom:
Mother’s Day comes around once every year but it’s necessary to remember that every day should include some kind of acknowledgment to the mother/mother figure in your life, so she knows she is appreciated and loved.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind my mommy of how much I love her and appreciate all the things she does for me daily. I am forever grateful that we have a relationship filled with love, truth and acceptance. She supports me in all the things I do and makes me feel as though I am capable of anything.
She is a wonderful woman who works hard at her job and to provide for our family. She loves my boyfriend as if he was her own son (sometimes my dad and I joke that she likes him better than me, but we’ll save that for another letter) and welcomes my friends into our home with love.
As the saying goes, “You can’t choose your family.” Well even if we could, I would still choose my mother as my Mommy each and every single time. I once heard someone say that as we’re growing up, we tend to forget that our parents are growing old. I want my mommy to know that I will never take for granted the time I get to spend with her and will always be thankful that I get to be her daughter.
Mommy, I love you forever and a day. Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
Your baby, Katie
