Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or the thought of red and pink decorations makes you want to puke, we’ve got a hunch everyone could use some happy news this month. And what’s happier than a love story?

We asked Patch readers on Facebook to share their local love stories — how they met, where it all went down, and what’s kept them together. Here’s the story of two Toms River locals who lived in the same apartment complex without meeting, but found each other online.

I'm 30-years-old and live with my parents "temporarily" in a 55+ development in Toms River. After being single for a few months, I took a deep breath, downloaded Tinder, and hoped for the best.

I ended up chatting with another guy from Toms River and we went on an amazing first date at the Tuscan House. We had met each other at the restaurant, so we each got in our cars and drove home separately after the date. I still had stars in my eyes from our awesome connection and didn't notice that he was driving in front of me most of the way.

When I finally crawled into bed that night, I clicked over to the Tinder app to re-read some of our conversations. It kept saying that he was 800 feet away. Was it a glitch? Was he creepily waiting outside my house, ready to jump through my window any second?

The next day I asked for his address and found out that it wasn't a glitch at all, that he lived "temporarily" with his grandma, a mere 3-minute walk from my house. We've been dating for 8 months, and I couldn't be happier. Just goes to show that sometimes the love of your life really is right around the corner.
