Massive Waterspout Reported Near Seaside Heights
The waterspout was recorded moving across Barnegat Bay between Toms River and Seaside Heights, according to reports.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — A huge waterspout was spotted on Barnegat Bay on Saturday between Toms River and Seaside Heights. The unique weather phenomenon was reported as a coastal weather front continues to spawn showers, wind and hail across the area.
The waterspout lit up social media on Saturday afternoon. The Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Co. tweeted a photo of the spout moving across the bay.

A waterspout is a rotating column of water and spray formed by a whirlwind occurring over the sea or other body of water.

Waterspouts are closely related to other atmospheric phenomena such as tornadoes, whirlwinds, and firestorms, according to Brittanica.com.
