Meet 'Flick' From 'A Christmas Story' At Fundraiser In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Scott Schwartz, who was triple-dog-dared into sticking his tongue to a frozen light pole as Flick in "A Christmas Story," will be appearing at a fundraiser on Saturday in Toms River.

The event supports Leadership United, a nonpartisan leadership development and public service development program that combines classes and practical experiences to help young adults develop leadership skills, increase their civics knowledge within the community and acquire the skills needed to serve as community leaders.

The meet-and-greet is being held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Battle River Brewing, 69 Main St., Toms River.

Due to the pandemic, reservations are being taken in 10-minute increments beginning at 6:50 p.m., with each time slot including time for photos and a chance to ask questions of Schwartz, who also played Eric in "The Toy," which also starred Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason.

The meet-and-greet costs $40. Send an email to events@leadershipunited.com to reserve a time slot and receive information on how to pay for it.
