National Burger Day: Special Deals In Toms River

The Memorial Day weekend may be over but there’s still reason to eat burgers on Tuesday, which is national hamburger day in the United States.

According to figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, there are more than 300 establishments in New Jersey whose main menu item is hamburgers. So, on national hamburger day, you have plenty of options for your meal.

According to The Daily Meal, the best burger in New Jersey can be found at White Manna in Hackensack. But there are plenty of places that offer good burgers here in Ocean County, from local diners to chain restaurants such as Five Guys and Red Robin.

And of course there's the new Shake Shack at the Monmouth Service Area in Wall that opened last week.

Several hamburger joints are offering special deals on Tuesday. According to a list compiled by Offers.com, burger joints including White Castle, Wendy's and Burger King have special deals to mark the unofficial holiday.

Here are some of the burger deals you can get in the Toms River area. Note that participation may vary by location and franchise.

Applebee's: It's the Burgers Eat Free promotion. Anyone with the name Burger – or some sort of variation, such as Hamburger, Berger, Beurger, etc. – can order Applebee's classics burgers. The Burgers Eat Free promotion is available at Applebee's locations owned and operated by Doherty Enterprises in New Jersey, including Brick, Howell, Manalapan, Manchester, Middletown, Ocean Township, Tinton Falls, Toms River, and Wall.

Burger King: The Angry Whopper has returned for a limited time, featuring a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty topped with bacon, American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, crispy onion petals, jalepeños, mayo and angry sauce.
