Quinn, Crea Win Ocean County Commissioners GOP Nomination
Unofficial vote tallies show incumbent Gary Quinn and former Little Egg Harbor mayor Barbara "Bobbi" Jo Crea have substantial leads.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — Ocean County Commissioner Gary Quinn and former Little Egg Harbor Township mayor Barbara "Bobbi" Jo Crea will be the Republican ticket on the November ballot for two seats on the Ocean County Board of Commissioners.
Quinn, the incumbent who is serving as director of the board, received 32,549 votes in unofficial tallies as of 11:30 p.m. with all districts counted. Crea, who had the official endorsement of the county Republican club had 30,805 votes. Michael Thulen Sr., a former Brick Township councilman, had 4,758 and Kenneth Seda of Manchester, who served on the 30th District staff, had 4,594.

It's the first time in decades where there has been a contested Republican primary for the seats on the board, which was called the Board of Freeholders until the beginning of 2021, when the name changed statewide.
Quinn is completing his first three-year term as commissioner. Commissioner Gerry Little decided to not seek re-election and is stepping down at the end of his term in December.

Quinn and Crea will face Democrats Philip Nufrio and Rita Kopacz, who were unopposed in their primary. Nufrio received 13,165 votes and Kopacz received 12,935.
The results are unofficial and will remain unofficial until the Ocean County Board of Elections and Ocean County Clerk's Office certify them.
