As residents were closing windows and preparing for a severe thunderstorm that rolled through Ocean County on Saturday, Patch reader Kelly Acquaire Niro was watching from a distance.
She snapped these photos while sitting on a boat at Tices Shoal, a popular gathering spot for boaters in Barnegat Bay. The storm stayed north of her location, she said.
