Seaside Heights Beach Camping Dates Announced For 2016

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ -- What could be better than camping on the beach under the stars?

Last summer's popular addition to the beach activities in Seaside Heights has returned for 2016, according to the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District.

Nighttime beach camping is scheduled for July 5, July 28, Aug. 2 and Aug. 11, according to Seaside Heights officials.

Those dates coincide with the new moons in both months, plus two dates where quarter-moons will be visible. Last year, the full moon beach camping was so popular that the borough had to close the dates well ahead of time.

This year, officials said, registration to camp will be through Eventbrite; no email registrations will be accepted. Due to the popularity of the program and the limited availability of camping sites, you must register to camp in advance.

To register, please go to eventbrite.com and search "Seaside Heights Beach Camping", where you will find the registration pages for each of the events.

There are Facebook event pages for each camping evening, officials said, and the registration link for each date is on the event pages.

Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Camping is on North Beach at Hiering Avenue, and begins at 7 p.m. each date and ends at 6 a.m. the following morning.
