If you're going to the beach, the app will let you get your badges without standing in long lines at the beach entry stands.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — If you're headed to the beach in Seaside Heights this weekend and are dreading having to wait in line for your wristband to go on the beach, you're in luck.

Seaside Heights is one of a handful of New Jersey towns where you can buy your badge via an app.

The app, named Viply, allows users to buy both daily and season badges. There are versions for both iPhone and Android systems.

Once you've downloaded the app and created an account, you purchase the badges you want, and it will charge your debit or credit card. Then you pick up your badges or wristbands at the beach control office on the Boardwalk at Kearney Avenue. The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.

You can purchase daily wristbands or season badges. There is a small fee for using the Viply app to buy them.

The beach pass costs are as follows:

  • Daily fee - $8
  • Weekly badge - $35 (Sunday through Saturday)
  • Season badge - $60
  • Senior Citizen season badge - $10 for those 65 years of age and older
  • Children 11 years of age and under - free every day

Veterans access the beach free every day with the appropriate Common Access Card, Uniformed Services ID Card, DD Form 214, or Veterans Benefit ID Card issued by the Veterans Administration.

Beach badge fees are charged only for the ocean; the bay beach is free to access.
