Toms River Halloween Parade 'A Go,' Officials Announce
Concerns about potential stormy weather have been eased, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The 81st Toms River Halloween Parade will step off Thursday night as scheduled, Toms River Fire Company 1 officials announced Wednesday.
"After a safety meeting this evening with information from weather officials, the parade is a GO for tomorrow evening," the announcement said.
Registration will open at the Robbins Street firehouse (between Washington Street and Water Street) at 8 a.m. Main Street and surrounding streets will be closing to traffic at 4:45 p.m.

Participants who will be walking in the parade, from Scout troops and nonprofit organizations to families and pets entries, will be staging on Highland Parkway this year. Previously those groups were staged in the Toms River Shopping Center parking lot in front of the businesses.
There had been concerns that thunderstorms would disrupt the evening — the parade is scheduled to being at 7 p.m. — but changes to the weather pattern allayed those concerns.
