TOMS RIVER, NJ — Marchers took to the streets of downtown Toms River on Halloween for the 81st Halloween Parade, as the winds howled and the skies threatened rain.

Though the turnout was somewhat lower because of those concerned about the weather, it was a nice night for a stroll with zombies and ghouls, marching bands and dressed-up pets. The youngest participant was 5-1/2 months old. The oldest participant was 96, and the participant who traveled the farthest to march came from Hillsborough.

Toms River Fire Company 1 announced the parade winners for each category and it also issued a reminder that the 2020 Toms River Halloween Parade will be on a Saturday, because Halloween falls on a Saturday.
