Toms River Man Dies In Garden State Parkway Crash
Jonathan Harnish was a Rutgers graduate and was working as an employment recruiter, according to his social media.
HAZLET, NJ ? A Toms River man killed Wednesday when his car ran off the Garden State Parkway was a health care recruiter and Rutgers graduate who enjoyed playing sports.
Jonathan Harnish, 29, died at the scene of the crash that happened about 5 a.m. Wednesday in Hazlet, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
He was driving a Kia Forte north on the Parkway when he lost control near milepost 117.8 in Hazlet, ran off the road into the median and hit several trees, Lebron said.

Harnish was a health care recruiter who worked for The Custom Group of Companies, an employment firm that helps find employees for a variety of industries, according to his LinkedIn profile. He had worked for Horizon and had been a recruiter focused on light industrial companies.
He was a 2018 cum laude graduate of Rutgers University, where he received a bachelor's degree in human resource management and psychology, and he had attended Towson University for two years. He played club sports at both Towson and Rutgers, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
