Toms River Man Hospitalized After Gunshot Report: Police
Police said the man fired a shot into the air and took off; there were no injuries.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening after police responded to a report of shots fired in the township, police said.
Police were called to Red Cedar Street for a report of gunfire.
The investigation found the man, who police said was "emotionally disturbed," had fired one shot into the air and then fled.

He was taken to Community Medical Center for evaluation after police found him, police said.
There were no injuries.
