Toms River Police Investigating Helicopter Landing Report

An anonymous complaint said the helicopter landed in a residential neighborhood, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River police are investigating a report they received Thursday morning about a helicopter landing and taking off in a residential area.

Police received an anonymous complaint about the helicopter about 11:30 a.m., Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department, said in response to a question about a resident's complaint on Patch about a helicopter flying low in the North Dover area.

"Does anyone know why there is an extremely low flying private helicopter over our homes in North Dover off of Silverton Road," the resident wrote "It's been going on for weeks and I've called FAA several times, they can't help without the tags. It's very reckless. It circles my home and it's dangerous."
