Scattered Power Outages In Toms River Amid Tropical Storm Fay

Tropical Storm Fay has already brought heavy rain to the Jersey Shore. Now it's beginning to impact Toms River.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Tropical Storm Fay has already brought heavy rain to the Jersey Shore. The Toms River Office of Emergency Management warned the township about the storm, and now the town is feeing the effects.

Scattered power outages were reported as videos on social media showed a storm surge coming in as the storm continued to threaten the region.

Forecasters projected 2-3 inches of rainfall. The National Weather forecast placed Ocean County under a flash flood warning through Friday evening.

There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms from 9-11 p.m., with showers continuing after. Wind could reach 39-57 mph, according to forecasts.

The Toms River Office of Emergency Management reminded people to keep their phones, tablets and other devices charged in case of upcoming power outages.
