Toms River Regional Schools Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Summer is almost over for students in the Toms River Regional Schools. The first day of school in Toms River Regional is Sept. 5.

If you have not registered your child for school, information on what is needed and how to register can be found on the Registration page on the district's website.

There are no emergency closing days built into the calendar. If there are emergency closings, the needed school days will be deducted from subsequent days and/or added to the end of the year as half days beginning June 18.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

• Start date: Thursday, Sept. 5
• Rosh Hashanah, schools closed: Thursday, Oct. 3
• Columbus Day, no school for students: Monday, Oct. 14
• Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5 — Schools will have a remote learning day
• Schools closed, NJEA Convention: Thursday, Nov. 7-Friday, Nov. 8
• Thanksgiving break: Half day Wednesday, Nov. 27, closed Thursday, Nov. 28, Friday, Nov. 29
• Family-teacher conferences: Tuesday, Dec. 3-Thursday, Dec. 5
• Winter break: Monday, Dec. 23-Wednesday, Jan. 1
• School resumes: Thursday, Jan. 2
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, schools closed: Monday, Jan. 20
• Presidents Day, schools closed: Friday, Feb. 14-Monday, Feb. 17
• Spring break: Friday, April 18-Sunday, April 27 (half-day April 17)
• Memorial Day, schools closed: Monday, May 26
• Primary Election, remote learning day: Tuesday, June 3
• High school graduations (tentative): Tuesday, June 17

The elementary schools operate on trimesters. Those dates are as follows:

• 1st Trimester: Sept. 5-Nov. 27
• 2nd Trimester: Dec. 2-March 14, 2025
• 3rd Trimester: March 17-June 17

The intermediate schools and high schools operate on a quarter system. Those dates along with progress report dates are as follows:

• 1st Semester: Sept. 5-Nov. 12; Progress reports: Oct. 7
• 2nd Semester: Nov. 13-Jan. 29; Progress reports: Dec. 16
• 3rd Semester: Jan. 30-April 4; Progress reports: March 4
• 4th Semester: April 7-June 17; Progress reports: May 14
