Updated COVID-19 Vaccine Site List For Ocean County

Here are sites where the COVID-19 vaccines are being administered and places to monitor for appointment openings.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – New Jersey continues to update its publicly listed COVID-19 vaccination sites. In Ocean County, these are the current locations administering the vaccine.

The state’s list includes some locations that accept appointments directly; others are operating through the New Jersey Vaccine Scheduling System. (While See the Ocean County list of vaccine sites below).

It’s important to note that vaccinations that currently are scheduled may be delayed; Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday said the relentless string of snow and ice storms has delayed delivery of the 230,000 doses of vaccine New Jersey was anticipating receiving. State Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said she hoped the vaccine doses would arrive Saturday. Read more: COVID-19 Vaccine Shipment To NJ Delayed, Gov. Murphy Confirms

While sites are listed, the limited supply of vaccine doses means you will have to check often for appointments. Readers have recommended checking frequently as some, such as the Ocean County Health Department, add appointments often throughout the day.

Not all sites distributing the vaccines are publicly listed because some are not open to the public, such as prisons and psychiatric hospitals.

New Jersey has created a county-by-county vaccine hub that reports the number of immunizations across the state. Nearly 1.6 million doses have been administered as of Friday. Persichilli has said the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of the adult population by the spring.

The list of people eligible to get the vaccine includes police and fire professionals and people older than 65. Read more: NJ Expands COVID Vaccine To 65 & Older, Those With Medical Issues

You can register for a vaccine on the NJ Vaccine Scheduling System and you will be notified when appointments are available. You should receive an email confirming your registration and telling you which vaccine eligibility group you are in. The NJ registration system only applies to a handful of sites, including the mega-site at Rowan College in Gloucester County.

Rite Aid, ShopRite, CVS and the multiple hospital systems all are taking registrations separately, and you may be able to fine an appointment at sites outside Ocean County in one of those locations. For example, there are 10 Rite-Aid pharmacies in Burlington County that are offering vaccinations. Follow the Rite Aid link to register for any of them.

AtlantiCare is operating the mega-site for vaccinations at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
