Veolia Urges Water Conservation In Toms River

The scorching temperatures and days without rain have put increased stress on water supplies throughout the area.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Customers of Veolia in Toms River are being asked to conserve water during the ongoing heat wave.

The lack of rain and the continuing oppressive temperatures are putting high demand on water resources, the company said.

"Reducing outdoor water usage and more specifically, lawn watering, as well as cutting back on the use of water to clean paved surfaces, such as streets, roads, sidewalks, driveways, garages, parking areas and patios, will help meet heavy demand," said Jim Mastrokalos, senior director of operations.
