Water Main Repair Disrupts Fischer Boulevard In Toms River
Suez officials said the repair work is taking longer than anticipated and traffic will be disrupted into the evening.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — Crews from Suez are repairing a leaking water main along Fischer Boulevard on Thursday, and motorists are urged to be careful in the area.
But the repair work is taking longer than expected, and motorists should expect delays through the area until at least 7 p.m., Suez spokeswoman Jane Kunka said Thursday afternoon.
The company initially expected the repair near 1161 Fischer Blvd., in the area of Oak Glen Road, to be completed by noon.

"Although we anticipated a temporary interruption of water service for customers on Fischer, Oak Glen and Merrimac due to this event earlier today, the water is not shut off yet and crews remain working on finding the problem associated with the break," Kunka said. The hope is the repair and paving will be completed by 7 p.m., she said.
Traffic is reduced to one lane in the area and Toms River police are on the scene, she said.
