Week Ahead: Council Meeting Has a New Date

Mark those calendars—below are programs, meetings and events you don't want to miss in Toms River and the surrounding area this week:

Monday, Aug. 12

Though they originally were set to meet on Tuesday, the special U.S. Senate primary election means Toms River Township Council members will hold their regular meeting a day early. It begins at 6 p.m. in town hall. 

Tuesday, Aug. 13

Voting opens in a special U.S. Senate primary election from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check out polling place locations here. 

Toms River Board of Education committees will hold several meetings beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room A in the district's 1144 Hooper Ave. offices. 

Wednesday, Aug. 14

Check out some classic autos in Toms River when Cruisin Downtown rolls in to Washington Street from 6 to 9 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 15

Toms River's Municipal Alliance will hold a 6 p.m. meeting in town hall; the Veteran's Commission will gather in town hall's Sunshine Meeting Room at 7 p.m.

"Nathan L. Dickinson" and "Little Big Toe" will perform at Toms River's Ocean County Library branch beginning at 7 p.m.
