Registration is open for the winter recreation basketball leagues for boys and girls grades 3 through 12. Please see the important guidelines regarding all basketball programs at the bottom of this email. We realize that guidelines and NJ State Executive Orders continue to shift...Here is information regarding the different scenarios in respect to refunds/credits should future executive orders effect our season.

WINTER 2021 REFUND POLICY- Kinnelon Recreation Committee adopted November 17, 2020

The Governor’s recent executive order pausing indoor winter sports until January 2, 2021 does not effect the Kinnelon Recreation Basketball season, as our season historically does not begin until the new year. However, if further postponements or a cancellation occurs, the following refund policy will take affect:

  • If the season is cancelled prior to the start of the 2021 basketball season (January 2, 2021), all registrants will receive a complete refund to the credit card by which the initial payment was made.
  • If the season is cancelled during the month of January, all registrants will receive a refund to their credit card minus a $25 equipment/administrative fee.
  • If the season is cancelled during the month of February, all registrants will receive a 50% refund to their credit card.
  • If the season is cancelled during the March playoffs, all registrants will receive a 25% credit to their account for future use.
  • Any registrant with extenuating circumstances can contact the recreation department for consideration on a case by case basis.
  • Please note: If a particular division does not have enough registrants to run a league, those that did register will be refunded in full.

KINNELON HIGH SCHOOL RECREATION BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BOYS AND GIRLS) Grades 9-12.

Click on the HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL section in your Community Pass account to register. NEW THIS YEAR is a girls league. Depending on the number of registrations, the GIRLS night may be a league or could be a weekly pick up game.

For this winter ONLY: Only students enrolled at Kinnelon High School can register. Because of the possibility of cross-contamination of the COVID-19 virus to/from other schools - we are limited to KHS students this year.

KINNELON RECREATION BASKETBALL LEAGUE Boys and Girls GRADES 3-8.

Click on the WINTER 2020-2021 section in your Community Pass account to register. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure that your son/daughter's grade is correct in our system. Our season will look different this year. Modifications to play days, grade groupings, etc. are likely. We will not be able to provide any type of schedule until all registration is complete. But know that we will continue to provide high quality programs as in the past...and will do everything possible to keep the kids healthy and happy and in the gym! CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

NEW RULES FOR THE UPCOMING BASKETBALL SEASON

  • Please note that no spectators will be allowed in the gymnasiums for practices or games this year per an executive order signed by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy regarding winter indoor youth sports. To ensure your son/daughter's safety-a site manager will be on staff in the gymnasiums at all times. Players, coaches, score keepers, clock operators and officials are the only individuals allowed in the gym at this time. Should the Governor, at a future date, allow spectators - all families will be notified.
  • All players, coaches, score keepers and clock operators will have their temperature taken and will answer a health questionnaire upon entrance to the facility.
  • Masks will be worn at all times except for players actively playing in the game. If a player is subbed out, they must put their mask back on. No one will be allowed to enter the gym without a mask or allowed to stay if they do not follow this important guideline.
  • All families will receive a complete list of guidelines prior to the season.

We realize you may have further questions regarding this season...call or write anytime-973-838-5401 ext. 220 or mschuckers@kinnelonboro.org. Thank you. Kinnelon Recreation Department
