The Bloomingdale Cornet Band will be presenting two more concerts in Butler Park this summer. The dates are July 30 and August 6.
The Bloomingdale Band has been playing summer concerts in Butler Park since it opened some 50 years ago. This concert series is sponsored by Mayor Robert W. Alviene and the Butler Town Council.
The July 30 concert will feature two wind instrument ensembles, a saxophone quartet and a brass quintet. Both groups will play a mix of songs ranging from Classical to the Roaring '20's to Modern Pop. This concert begins at 7:00 PM.

On August 6, the Butler Police Dept. will be holding its annual National Night Out and the Bloomingdale Jazz Band will perform. The festivities begin at 6:00 PM with a DJ, games for children, tables with items set up by local merchants, and light snacks will be available. The purpose of the event is for a better awareness of the role the Police play in the community and the programs sponsored by the Police Dept. At 8:00 PM, the Bloomingdale Band will perform jazz, pop and rock songs of the '60's and '70's.
The first concert of the three summer shows took place July 9 with the Jazz Band performing Big Band songs of the '40's.
