Cyclocross Races Coming to Chester's Highlands Ridge Park

Two-day event hosted by Marty's Reliable Cycle, open to all ages and experience levels.

Think of it as mountain biking meets Tough Mudder and, the sloppier the conditions, the more entertaining the event.

That’s cyclocross, in a nutshell, and it’s coming to Chester Township’s Highlands Ridge Park on Oct. 25 and 26, in an event called Marty Cross, thanks to Morris County’s most well-known bike supplier, Marty’s Reliable Cycle.

The races are held rain or shine and comprised of laps around a taped-off course. The courses require riders to run up steps, through sand or negotiate barriers while carrying their bikes. The cyclocross bikes are lightweight and easy to carry, according to Marty’s.
