Drugs, DWI, Warrants: Bloomingdale Police Blotter

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — Bloomingdale Police made several arrests at the end of July, including for drugs, warrants, and drunk driving. You can read about those arrests, as written by police in the blotter, here:
On 7/27/19 at 22:02 hours, Ptl. Sami Zeidan observed a motorist using a cell phone while operating a vehicle on Main Street. He conducted a motor vehicle stop and upon speaking with the driver, a 28 year old male from West Milford, Ptl. Zeidan observed signs of intoxication. Following several field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, use of a cell phone, failing to maintain lane, possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and for failing to produce a valid registration. A family member responded to take custody of the driver pending his court date. His vehicle was impounded. Sgt. David Terpstra and Butler Officer Ptl. Scott Sinopoli assisted with the arrest.
Also on 7/27/19 at 22:19 hours, Ptl. Kevin Peirsel responded to a single vehicle accident on Reeve Avenue. The accident occurred when the vehicle backed into a utility pole initially then struck a curb causing damage to the vehicle. Thanks to the assistance of a witness, the driver who was not initially present on scene was located. The 53 year old female from Bloomingdale showed signs of intoxication and after attempting several field sobriety tests, the operator was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and unsafe backing of a vehicle. The vehicle was impounded. Sgt. David Terpstra and Butler Officer Ptl. Kyle Fontanazza assisted with the arrest.

On 7/28/19 at 20:12 hours, Ptl. Sami Zeidan stopped a motor vehicle on Main Street. In speaking with the driver, a 20 year old male from Brooklyn, NY, Ptl. Zeidan observed signs of C.D.S. A search of the vehicle yielded several e-cigarette cartridges containing suspected C.D.S., specifically THC oil and several items used to ingest C.D.S. The driver was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle with C.D.S. and several additional motor vehicle summonses. He was released pending his court date. Sgt. David Terpstra assisted with the arrest.
On 7/31/19 at 18:39 hours, while at Bloomingdale Court, Ptl. Sami Zeidan observed a 25 year old male from Leonia present who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was out of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department and had no bail assigned. The male was arrested and walked down into headquarters for processing. He was turned over to officers from the Bergen County Sheriff's Department.
