I-287 Reopened In Both Directions Near Tilcon Quarry

RIVERDALE, NJ — A gas line break at Tilcon Quarry closed all lanes of Interstate 287 in Riverdale and Wanaque Wednesday morning, local officials said. The road has since reopened.

The highway was shut down mid-morning between Interchange 53 in Riverdale and Interchange 55 in Wanaque, Riverdale officials said. Traffic was diverted onto local roads and was expected to cause heavy traffic in Riverdale and Wanaque.

The road reopened around 11 a.m., officials said.

The gas line break is not causing any danger to residents near the quarry, officials said.
