Kinnelon Schools Prep Hybrid Fall Plan

Students will be split in cohorts and in school for a full day.

KINNELON, NJ - As plans to return to in-person instruction shape up around New Jersey, Kinnelon has released a plan that will have students in school for full days, but split into cohorts to limit capacity.

Some details:

  • Kinnelon Schools will be on a regular full-day schedule at all schools.
  • The district will be implementing a hybrid configuration to reduce the capacity of the buildings until such time we can increase the number of students in the building.
  • The district will be utilizing and A/B Cohort with a all virtual day on Wednesdays
  • Cohorts will be created by alpha last name, A-L - Cohort A; M-Z - Cohort B
  • Sample schedules follow - more detailed schedules will be released later in August.

  • The health and safety of students and staff
  • Providing as rigorous a program of instruction aligned to the NJ Student Learning Standards for both the in-person/hybrid virtual and full time remote instructional days as is possible
  • A focus on social and emotional learning and the mental wellness of our students and staff
  • Based on fluctuating public health data, a plan to either phase in more in-person learning or pivot to an all remote program as soon as warranted
