Lost Hiker, Road Rage Incident: Bloomingdale Police Blotter

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — Bloomingdale Police responded to multiple calls for help, including for a road rage incident and a hiker lost in Norvin Green State Park. Read about those arrests, as written by police, in the blotter here:
On 6/5/19 at 20:55 hours, Ptl. Sami Zeidan stopped a vehicle on Main Street. In speaking to the 29 year old male driver from Newton, Ptl. Zeidan observed signs of signs of C.D.S. use. A search of the vehicle located a number of glassine folds containing suspected heroin, a plastic bag containing a white powder believed to be cocaine, several syringes and other items commonly used to ingest C.D.S. The driver was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing where he was charged with 2 counts of possession of C.D.S., possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, failure to surrender C.D.S., possession of C.D.S. in a motor vehicle and for using a cell phone where driving. He was transported to Passaic County Jail. Sgt. David Terpstra and Ptl. Kevin Peirsel assisted with the arrest.
On 6/9/19 at 18:26 hours, Ptl. Sami Zeidan responded to the area of Glenwild Avenue for a reported road rage incident. On location Ptl. Zeidan met with 2 drivers, a 73 year old male from West Milford and a 30 year old male from Bloomingdale. The problem originated on Main Street when the 73 year old felt the 30 year old had cut his vehicle off and both vehicles finally coming to a stop on Glenwild Avenue. Both drivers had exited their vehicles, but the 73 year old had grabbed a short wooden club from his vehicle and had threatened the other driver. Ptl. Zeidan arrested the 73 year old and transported him to headquarters where he was charged with possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. He was released pending his court date. Det. Steven Smith and Ptl. Gary Walker assisted at the scene.

On 6/14/19 at 07:35 hours, Ptl. Michael Fatzer stopped a motor vehicle on Hamburg Turnpike. Prior to stopping the vehicle he observed that in addition to the vehicle violations, a passenger was not wearing a seat belt. After speaking with the driver, Ptl. Fatzer asked for the passenger's information. The 28 year old male passenger from Oak Ridge did not possess any identification on him, but verbally provided Ptl. Fatzer his information. After a check and several verifications from the passenger, it was later learned that he had provided Ptl. Fatzer with an incorrect spelling to his name. For providing incorrect information, he was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was charged with hindering apprehension. He was released pending his court date. Sgt. Michael Boffa and Ptl. Vincent Graziosa assisted with the arrest.
On 6/15/19 at 21:11 hours, Ptl. Gary Walker fielded a report of a lost hiker in Norvin Green State Forest. The call originally taken by the Ringwood Police Department was forward to this department advising that a 32 year old female was uninjured, but lost. The Bloomingdale Volunteer Search and Rescue Team was dispatched and were able to locate the hiker and bring her out of the forest. Ptl. Sami Zeidan and the New Jersey State Park Police assisted.
