Narcan Revival, Lost Hiker Saved: Bloomingdale PD Blotter

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — Bloomingdale police responded to a number of calls for service between Oct. 6 and Oct 15, including reviving a man suffering an overdose and helping a lost hiker out of the woods. Read more about recent police activity, as written by Bloomingdale Police in the blotter, here:

On 10/6/19 at 12:57 hours, Ptl. Vincent Graziosa responded to a medical call on Hamburg Turnpike. It was involving a 25 year old male who was unresponsive. On scene Ptl. Graziosa learned that the male had ingested an unknown quantity of heroin which had lead to an overdose. Ptl. Graziosa administered NARCAN nasal spray to the male which after a short period of time, was successfully able to bring him back to responsiveness. Tri Boro First Aid Squad and paramedics from Atlantic Health Services also responded to the scene. The male was transported to Chilton Hospital by the Tri Boro First Aid Squad.

On 10/10/19 at 13:59 hours, Ptl. Vincent Graziosa responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street in which a vehicle struck a parked car. In speaking to the driver, a 55 year old female from West Milford, Ptl. Graziosa learned that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of Ringwood. The driver was arrested and transported to headquarters where Ringwood was contacted and opted to release the driver on her own recognizance pending a future court date. She was released and returned to her vehicle.

On 10/12/19 at 22:16 hours, Ptl. Antonio Calabro stopped a motor vehicle on Bailey Avenue. In identifying the 25 year old female driver out of Bloomingdale, Ptl. Calabro discovered that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of the Morris County Prosecutors Office. The driver was arrested and transported to headquarters where Morris County Detectives responded to transport the driver to Morris County Jail. Ptl. Gary Walker and Matron Linda Daly assisted with the arrest.

On 10/13/19 at 17:26 hours, Ptl. Antonio Calabro responded to a report of a car on fire on Pearl Street. On arrival, Ptl. Calabro observed a silver Chevrolet with a small amount of smoke coming from the engine compartment and several individuals near the vehicle. One of the males advised that he had been operating the vehicle when smoke started coming from under the hood. A fire extinguisher was used on the engine. The Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department responded and assisted in rendering the vehicle safe. Ptl. Conrad Jimenez also assisted on the scene.

On 10/15/19 at 19:52 hours, this department fielded a call from a lost hiker in Norvin Green State Forest. The hiker, a 49 year old female resident of West Milford, had parked on upper Glenwild Avenue and had entered via the blue trail with her dog and now that it was dark, she was unable to find her way out of the forest. The Bloomingdale Volunteer Search & Rescue Team was dispatched and responded and were able to locate and successfully escort the hiker and her dog out of the forest. No one was injured. The New Jersey State Park Police also assisted at the scene.
