BLOOMINGDALE, NJ— Two hikers had to be rescued after becoming lost in Norvin Green State Forest, Bloomingdale Police said in a statement.

Two hikers, a 23-year-old woman from Mount Ephraim and a 24-year-old man from Burlington, had set out on the blue trail near the West Milford border on Sunday. According to police, as the sun set, the two became lost and were unable to find their way out of the park.

Using information the hikers sent by phone, the Bloomingdale Search and Rescue Team was sent out to search for the pair. The mostly-volunteer squad found the pair after several hours of searching.
